The Las Vegas Plaza on the Strip - To be Built Across from the WYNN Resort

As a former New Yorker, there is no hotel I liked better than the Plaza. Great Location. Class Act. Lovely Architecture. With El-Ad Properties purchase of the Frontier Resort, Las Vegas was looking forward to welcoming the Las Vegas version of the Plaza to our city. St. Regis has announced it's launch - right catty corner across the boulevard form the Plaza site. I am not sure I would launch a tower in these troubling economic times, ( where will the construction loan $$ come from??), but after all Vegas is Vegas and development never stops. Looks like the folks at the Plaza are giving much thought to their development. CLICK TO READ THE NEWS.

The north end of the Resort Corridor has the potential to become the Beverly Hills of the Strip. St. Regis, The Plaza Hotel, Wynn, Encore, and Echelon are all part of that equation. I really hope The Plaza Hotel moves forward, just not right now.
Also, it is worth mentioning that the height restrictions are higher on the north end of the Resort Corridor that the south end. Why? Because the north end is not in hte flight path of McCarran Airport. Proof? The site where the (now cancelled) Crown has approval for 1,064 feet.
